The Fresenius Medical Care Center was an interior remodeling of an existing building to house a dialysis center to services to outpatients in Santa Juanita, Bayamon. The project needs to comply with very specific technical requirements and standards as well as adapt them to the local construction demands. The remodeled building includes a lobby, patient and administrative areas, storage for special equipment, and a separate entrance to a dialysis training space. Several electrical upgrades were needed including a new substation to support the facility and new types of equipment. New water tanks were required as a backup in case of an emergency, a fire, or drought.
